Neurofeedback, or EEG Biofeedback, can help you and your family with many symptoms, diagnoses, and issues, including migraines, insomnia, ADD/ADHD, post-traumatic stress disorder, learning disabilities, depression, anxiety, and many more. In fact, biofeedback is now considered a Level 1 intervention (Best Support) for ADD/ADHD by American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). So why do neurofeedback providers hesitate when it comes to accepting insurance?
Insurance companies tend to be confusing, even for billing companies and professionals that work with insurances on a daily basis. Part of that confusion is that each plan will have different coverage and each member will have used their coverage in a variety of ways. This means that there is no rule for accepting, using, or billing your insurance company.
Here at San Diego Center for Neurofeedback we are making every effort to accept your insurance and are in the process of becoming In-Network with your carriers. We may ask for your assistance in verifying your coverage for biofeedback, but we provide the questions for you to ask your carrier - Questions for your Insurance. This benefits you as it gives a better idea of the coverage and any payments you may have with neurofeedback treatments. If for some reason, your insurance will not reimburse for biofeedback, you will be responsible for the treatment.
